Android app badges -


there seems lot of old , confused information this, sorry if obvious duplicate - see no clear answer this.

it seems common apps on android devices able show badges consistently , seems native support. example whatsapp , facebook show badges unread messages. furthermore, if these apps in group, group gets badge well. somehow make work across different phone manufacturers , os versions (in experience, @ least lg g3 android 4.4.4, , htc 1 lollipop - these show badges differently, suggesting it's built in , not app changing icon or activity)

please answer if have clear , certified answer on how done , don't answer "can't done" or workaround might work here not there etc. - these answers not helpful. if big apps mentioned use something, i'm sure isn't workaround isn't consistent , might cause problems, actual way this.

we can implement badge in android, there limitation like, devices doesn't support nexus, supporting well. best solution, should use this library. using it, can solution badge.

Android soft keyboard reverts to default keyboard on orientation change -

i'm building android soft keyboard , can't seem fix bug - have arabic , qwerty keyboard , when rotate device on qwerty keyboard (or arabic shift), it's if program has "restarted" , becomes arabic keyboard without shift. the onsaveinstancestate(bundle savedinstancestate) not work because application not extend activity inputmethodservice . i put following in android manifest android:configchanges="keyboard|keyboardhidden|orientation" android:windowsoftinputmode="stateunchanged|adjustresize"> i tried using @override public void onconfigurationchanged(configuration newconfig) { super.onconfigurationchanged(newconfig); log.i(mydebug, "config changed " + currentkeyboard.equals(qwerty)); } however, currentkeyboard.equals(qwerty)) results false , made sure true before orientation change. any appreciated. i think applications fault. if application restarting on orientation change

Rendering JButton to get the JCheckBox behavior in a JTable by using images does not update my table -
