html - ftp link without password for my websiteusers -


on website want put href="" link.

i want when user clicks on hyperlink opens new tab pdf.

this pdf on ftp server in file.

but don't know link have put on href="".

i've tested example: ftp://username:password@servername.com example works, second problem is, don't want users see password in link.

i work html , don't know ftp server hosting etc.

could me please?

you use http:// protocol view files regularly. practical purposes, can view webpage on http://. ftp:// used edit server's files, needing password protect it. used server access/maintenance purposes, , not intended serve data public.

therefore necessary use http://, , obviating need username/password.

the url should changed http://yourdomain.com/directory/to/pdf.pdf.
