here's understanding :
ddl stands "data definition language". refers subset of database language deals database structure. examples of ddl statements in sql create, alter or drop.
taking definition literally, creating ddl means defining generic statements affect database. doesn't makes sense: sql has ddl (the aforementioned create, alter, drop statements).
does "creating ddl" mean generating file has ddl statements required generate database?
the quotes says 'create the ddl' dissect 'create a ddl'. think there's big difference.
saying 'the ddl' shorthand 'the data definition language statements' (meaning sql necessary create schema). omitting word 'statements' (to me) forgivable contraction. using 'a ddl' has connotations of comparing 1 data definition language — sql isam.
